I joined Rawlinson Road Middle School this year (August 2021) after begin part of the Dutchman Creek Family since June of 2013. I have eighteen years of teaching experience and a total of 33 years experience of directing musicals, plays, and other performing arts events. Before returning to the classroom, I worked part time as the personal training director for the Upper Palmetto YMCA where I also began an acting troupe called Acting Up that was 75 kids strong serving students from 3rd-8th grade.
I love spending time with my family! I am married to Milan Klipa (33 years this past July!) who teaches Math at RHHS. Our family of 7 include; Annie, our youngest who is 18 years old and attending Fruitland Bible College. Matthew, age 23 attended Western Carolina University and now owns his own construction company "Clean Slate". Finally, our oldest son Tyler age 30 and his wife Heather are both teachers and coaches at Rock Hill High School and Fort Mill High School respectively. Together, they parent our sweet granddaughters Carter Jo, age 3 and Georgia Pearl age 9 months.
Besides my family, my biggest accomplishment was being named Dutchman Creek's Teacher of the Year in 2019 a and being named the Rock Hill School District honor roll teacher. In addition to my Fine Arts degree which I received from West Virginia University, I completed a Master's Degree in Learning and Technology and enjoy integrating technology in my classroom and helping other teachers do the same. I also am a Mentor teacher, where I am able to work with 1st year teachers in addition to students who aspire to become theatre teachers and am an ADEPT trained evaluator for the state of South Carolina
I look forward to my adventure at RRMS and can't wait to see what the students are going to accomplish on stage! Go Raiders!
