8th Grade Theatre Arts
In this semester-long elective, students study various components of the stage, such as pantomime, improvisation, staging, blocking, technical theatre, audition techniques, the actor's voice, theatre history, character development, script scoring, evaluations, publicity, careers in theatre arts, and more.
This course relies heavily on the imaginations of the students and encourages creativity, individuality, performance, and evaluation.
The semester will conclude with an on-stage school wide performance that is open to all students but produced, designed and publicized specifically by the students enrolled in the Theatre Arts Class
Students will be graded with the following methods of evaluations:
Daily Warm-ups/Quizzes 25%
Activities/Projects 25%
Classroom Participation/Audience Etiquette 25%
Tests 25%
